Ok, So we just finished designing and developing your website and turned it live. Phew! We are done… Not so fast! We have actually just begun. Its time to take step back and think about why you had your website built and what you expect out of it. “We have a website because everyone does….” This is the mentality of many business owners. They get a website because its expected, but they do not know how to leverage this resource, the resource that is most likely the number one marketing tool for their company. I will be blogging about what you and your company can do to create a web presence that you can utilize, profit from, and use to bring new business to your company. What should this first blog explain? Blogging of course… Blogging is one of the most useful, and productive things you can do to get exposure for yourself and your business. Why you ask? Let me explain the main points below: 1) Become the Expert – Position yourself and your company as the thought leader of your business. Blog about what you do, and hone on a daily basis. 2) Customer Relationships – Blogging is not meant to sell people. Blogging is meant to share some knowledge with the world, interact with your customers, and provide tips and insight into what you do and love for a living. Will you gain customers from blogging? Of course, but this shouldnt be your main objective while blogging. 3) Exposure – The more you blog about what you do, and the more relevant text and keywords you use, the more exposure you will get. Search engines, other blogs and social bookmarking sites will pick up your blog, index them in their searches, and you will drive more people to yourself. In short:: RANK HIGH ORGANICALLY IN SEARCH ENGINES! 4) Test ideas or products – A blog is informal dialog. It’s part of a conversation where people can comment, give you feedback, and measure value of your products and ideas. Throw an idea out there, see if generates information. Heck, throw 10 out there, see which ones are popular, then put time and resources towards ideas that popular. There are many many more benefits to blogging, but I outlined the ones I feel are important and useful for yourself and your company. Check back often for
