December is well underway, and with the holiday season upon us, a consistent message across social media outlets can do wonders for increasing sales at the end of the year. People love to connect during the holiday season, and we all are aware that people love the excuse to spend money as well. It’s the perfect time of year to launch a consistent, united marketing message specific to your business. Here are just a few ideas:
- Use the concise, pre-determined time-line of the holiday season to launch a contest on Facebook to generate likes and increase sales. Do a simple giveaway for new fans or those who sign up for your email newsletter on your Facebook page. Give away one of your more popular items (or services) rather than something you are unable to sell (or have just sitting around).
- It can be tempting to share personal content on your business’ social media pages, but refrain from doing so during the holidays. People really don’t care what you did — they are looking for great ideas, affirmation, or justification for their Christmas season plan. Share gift ideas, suggest timely products (carpet cleaning following your annual Christmas party), and integrated holiday themes with tried and true marketing content.
- Create and share discount codes across social media platforms for products that would be perfect for Christmas gifts. Make sure that your products will both ship and arrive on or before Christmas Eve.
- Upload videos and images related to holiday themes; they go over very well, especially during the holidays.
