With any growing or new business, a strategic marketing plan with 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year goals is essential. What are some of your own goals for your business? How will you manage growth, how will you market to the local, regional, and/or national marketplaces? What are some of the characteristics of your key demographics? The answers to these questions should most certainly be included in your plan. Today, we would like to offer some of the things we believe should be included in your plan — these components should be the areas in which you invest time and resources as you run your business:
1. A Custom Website. Your website should be a custom designed piece of internet real estate in which you inform, draw, and encourage people to call you, visit you, or purchase from you. Your website should have the right levels of functionality to accomplish your goals and propel your business forward. It should contain original content only, and that content should be well-written and customer-focused.
2. Search Engine Optimization. Drive traffic to your site through back-end optimization. Driving traffic to your site allows you to reach additional people, and with so many relying on Google for information about various types of businesses, it is one of the most effective ways to increase hits, which correlates to increased business.
3. Blogging and Social Media. When you create original content on a regular basis, Google crawlers take notice. They crave new, original content. Update your site on a regular basis, and experience increased traffic. Build offsite links by building a social media presence on a variety of platforms. This allows for increased engagement and connections with local people and those already committed to your brand.
These are just a few of the components necessary for a successful strategic marketing plan. Make sure to include this in your plan, and be sure to budget accordingly. For assistance, please give us a call. We would love to help!
