Does your business have a LinkedIn profile? If not, you should have a company page — a profile — much in the same way that you have a page on Facebook. Your LinkedIn profile should contain much more detailed information about your company. LinkedIn allows others to recommend your business, talk about your business in their own profiles, and lets people connect with employees at your business.
Recently, LinkedIn announced they will allow the over 2 million businesses on their site post status updates with under 500 characters in length. These updates will appear in the main page’s “updates” news section. Your company’s status updates will also appear in your profile’s Overview page. The change will allow for more engagement amongst LinkedIn members; additionally, the move will create more activity on LinkedIn, giving users more of a reason to log into the social networking site. Previously static pages will now be available for frequent updates, giving a more dynamic feel to the site.
