Want to create content that is actually valuable in branding and promoting your business?

3 Content Tips From RT Design Group to You

Today, I would like to provide a few tips for you as you promote your business through unique content. (Emphasis on unique -- many companies fail to recognize how detrimental duplicate content can be to their SEO activities.)

What are some things that characterize valuable content? Valuable content should be constantly updated on your site. It should be useful to those who read it, and attractive to search engines. Valuable content should generate discussions, remain consistent to your brand, and encourage a response. Once you determine the direction of your content, you will then be able to determine on which platform your content works best, and how to tweak your content to be appropriate for various platforms.

This Week's Content Tips:

  1. Put yourself in the reader's shoes. Would you want to read your post? Does your post provide interesting information? Don't just post for the sake of search engines; post for the sake of your readers. Include interesting pictures, exciting headings, and questions that appeal to the emotions.
  2. Make it easy for readers to re-post elsewhere and embed content on other sites. Yes, you own your content. But, you should make it accessible and portable. Doing so will only create organic, powerful links back to your site (also known as backlinks).
  3. Create your own backlinks. Repost your content as comments in response to other blogs you enjoy. Avoid being tagged as spam by actually contributing to the conversation. Link back to your post as often as possible in a meaningful way.

Creating meaningful content consistently requires direction, oversight, and an interest in the direction of your industry as a whole. In a world where content is king, do the hard work of creating meaning online.
