From all of us at RT Design Group, we hope you had a wonderful Christmas and holiday celebration this past weekend! But...let's be honest. A lot of times the Christmas season is filled with family drama and/or heightened emotional experiences. As I recover from the Christmas holiday with all of its parties, expectations, and family encounters, I personally feel that website design can be a little like the holiday season: ... Read more

I love this article from The Oatmeal that Wayne sent to me the other day. It's actually a comic/poster detailing common spelling mistakes that even with all manners of loveliness in auto correct, spell check, and grammar detectors, lots and lots of people still make. (Not only are these comics hilarious and well-designed, they are also for sale through the company's website. Nice.) The article invites even the most grammar-savvy ... Read more

In the world of web design, most design businesses -- particularly local ones -- have a main focus. One thing that they're really good at that no one else could do better than them. When I started RT Design Group, I did not necessarily want to have one specific thing (such as cutting-edge graphic design) that I could do better than everyone else. Rather, I wanted to put together a team of people that sought to pursue their ... Read more

This post is kind of like my "how to" in reverse -- I see a lot of junky content as I crawl the internet and web-based marketing material. Boring, ugly, grammatically incorrect, factually incorrect -- just plain junk. The internet is like a bathroom wall -- anyone can say anything they want at any time. I think we can all agree we've seen some annoying content online. What are some tips for avoiding these common verbiage annoyances? ... Read more

Well, the numbers are in -- Cyber Monday sales were up 18% this year, and online traffic was up 43% over last year. Additionally, Black Friday online sales were up over 23% this year. In honor of these record breaking data points, I feel that it's that time to share with you my shopping philosophy: "Only when absolutely necessary." I never go to any stores, especially when I can (usually) find the exact same thing cheaper ... Read more

The holiday season is upon us, and after successfully navigating Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, and the remainder of Thanksgiving weekend, I am already sensing that the next few weeks encompassing the holidays will run quickly by. In keeping with many other seasonal trends, at work, many small businesses tend to say, "'Tis the Season," and push off larger projects that deserve our focus. We spend a lot of time working ...
